The Kosovo Special Prosecution said on Wednesday evening that an ethnic Bosniak, identified only by the initials E.B., has been arrested for alleged involvement in a war crime against the civilian population.
The prosecution said it is suspected that during 1998-99 war, the man was a police officer in the village of Gjurakoc in the Istog/Istok municipality and participated in a massacre by Serbian forces in which 18 people were killed.
The massacre took place on May 8, 1999 in the village of Saradran/Staradran, between Istog/Istok and Peja/Pec.
The suspect was remanded in custody for 48 hours.
