As announced by the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on December 22, 2016 defendant Jukanovic sent a false report against his cousin through a social network due to his alleged connection with planned terrorist activities.

“He sent the message to a user account of one diplomatic mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina based in Sarajevo, which induced distress among its staff members. Checks performed by law enforcement agencies determined that the allegations were not true and the person in question was falsely reported,” the Prosecution said in its announcement.

In line with the plea agreement Jukanovic got a suspended sentence of eight months. The sentence will not be enforced unless the defendant commits a new crime within a two-year period.

Under the plea agreement, the defendant gave up on the right to a trial and right to appeal the verdict, which the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will pronounce on the basis of this agreement.
