Trial chamber chair Davorin Jukic said he would postpone deliberating on the agreement, because the state prosecution had not contacted the injured parties.

“I have not contacted the injured parties, because I have some stands of my own. There is sufficient grounded suspicion for concluding the agreement. We searched for some of them. I traveled to Derventa, but I was unable to find them. The families of two victims live abroad,” state prosecutor Milorad Barasin said.

Jukic said the injured parties had to be informed and have a stand regarding the agreement.

In December 2015, Lipovac signed an agreement with the state prosecution, admitting his guilt for crimes committed in the Derventa area in 1992.

According to previous announcements issued by the state prosecution, Lipovac, a former member of the 103rd Brigade of the Croatian Defense Council (HVO), participated in killing, beating, robbing and torturing Serbs.

Lipovac was arrested in the Netherlands in May 2014. He was extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina in November 2015.

The next hearing is scheduled for January 26.
