Dabetic has been charged with beating and raping a Bosniak woman in 1992, along with Predrag Miskovic. According to the indictment, Dabetic and Miskovic entered the injured party’s apartment through a window and ordered her to undress. The injured party ran to the first floor of her apartment building. Dabetic and Miskovic caught her and beat her until she started losing consciousness. They then allegedly raped her in her apartment.||Dabetic allegedly raped the same woman several times during 1992 and 1993.||According to the charges, Dabetic supervised a working squad in Grbavica and later on became a member of the Bosnian Serb Army.||Miskovic was sentenced to seven years in prison for war crimes against civilians in Grbavica.||Presenting her opening statement, Nives Kanevcev said she would demonstrate the defendant’s guilt through the examination of the injured party, as well as testimony from witnesses who were captured in Grbavica and an expert witness.||In its opening statement, the defense said it denied the authenticity and lawfulness of the prosecution’s evidence, as well as elements of the crime involving civilians, which are included in the charges against Dabetic.||The defense also intends to deny the defendant’s military engagement, which is mentioned in the indictment.||Turkish police arrested Dabetic in late March 2015 as per an Interpol warrant. He was extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina on April 17, 2015.||The indictment against Dabetic was confirmed on September 7, 2015. He plead not guilty in October 2015.||The first prosecution witnesses will be examined on December 10.
