The Bosnian state prosecution announced on Thursday that they will request that Nezirovic be held in custody.

According to available information, Nezirovic moved to the U.S. in 1997. Five years ago, the American government charged him with providing false information in his citizenship application and failing to disclose he was a member of Bosnian Croat forces.

Bosnia and Herzegovina called for Nezirovic’s extradition in July 2012. The process took several years because of appeals made by Nezirovic.

The investigation into Nezirovic’s alleged crimes was initiated by the district court of Doboj.
