The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has terminated custody measures against Radoman Fundup, who’s been charged with the murder and abuse of civilians in Foca. The court has ordered prohibitive measures instead.

As stated in a court announcement, Fundup is banned from leaving his place of residence, traveling, using his personal identification card for crossing the state border, as well as meeting certain persons. He is obliged to report to a police station three times a week.

“These prohibitive measures may last for as long as there is a need for them or until the court has rendered a different decision. Their justification will be checked every two months. If the defendant violates the prohibitive measures, he may be ordered back into custody,” the court announced.

In December of last year Fundup surrendered to the State Investigation and Protection Agency, SIPA. The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina then ordered him into custody. His trial began on March 3 this year.

Fundup, a former member of the Focanska Brigade with the Bosnian Serb Army, has been charged with participating in the murder of two children and five persons, and wounding one woman in Cohodor Mahala. He allegedly acted in collaboration with two other perpetrators.

He is also charged with abusing three civilians, two of whom were children. The indictment alleges that he and another person lined up civilians in the village of Gornje Polje. They cocked their rifles at them, so the civilians would believe they’d be shot.
