The status conference was postponed due to a scheduling mistake made by the state prosecution.

“I apologize to the judges, the defendant and his lawyer,” prosecutor Miroslav Janjic said.

Janjic explained that he thought the judges were on holiday. He said he was busy with work on another case and that the expert was on a business trip in Zagreb.

Jozo Djojic has been charged with participating in the rape and sexual abuse of a woman in Odzak in 1992.

Neuropsychiatrist Muhamed Ahmic had said that Djojic couldn’t attend the trial due to his poor health. Last month, the state prosecution challeged Ahmic’s findings and requested a new expert to be called in.

The next status conference will be held on May 21.
