Goran Popovic Verdict Expected Next Week

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina will pronounce its verdict in the Goran Popovic case next week. Popovic has been charged with war crimes committed in Visegrad in 1992 and 1993.

Popovic has been charged with participating in the assault, torture and sexual abuse of Bosniak men and women detained in the Uzamnica military barracks. The sentence will be pronounced on Thursday, April 30.

The defense team of Nihad Bojadzic, a former member of the Zulfikar Brigade, will continue presenting its closing arguments on Monday, April 27. Bojadzic is on trial with Mensur Memic, Dzevad Salcin, Nedzad Hodzic, and Senad Hakalovic for war crimes committed in Trusina.

Trials for war crimes committed in Sanski Most, Trnovo, Cajnice, Kotor Varos, Bosanski Brod, Cazin, Stolac, Capljina and Mostar will continue next week.
