The indictment charged Stojanovic, a former member of the Maturice Special Operations Unit of the Croatian Defence Council, with the rape of a woman in July 1993.
According to the charges, Stojanovic and a man with the initials D.L, who later died, forced one woman and one girl into a vehicle and drove them to the Duhre settlement near Kiseljak.
“D.L took person A to a room and she cried and asked for help. In one moment, Marinko Stojanovic came inside and threatened to kill her if she resists. D.L raped person A and then, while holding a knife, Stojanovic raped her as well and forced her to have oral sex,” the indictment reads.
The underage person, according to the indictment, was in the next room during the rape, where she was watched by an unknown member of the Croatian Defence Council.
