Witness Muhamed Nogo said that he saw Bojadzic, a former Deputy Commander of “Zulfikar” Squad with the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, AbiH, on Mount Igman on July 20. He wrote it down in his wartime diary, which was presented in the courtroom.
“We used to see each other on Mount Igman the whole time. I stayed in the ‘Mraziste’ hotel, where the ‘Zulfikar’ Squad was situated as well,” said the witness, who was member of the Ninth Mountain Brigade of ABiH at that time.
As he said, he saw the indictee again on July 27 and this was the last time he saw him.
“He just told me that he was going to Sarajevo in order to request help from other units,” he recalled.
The witness said that combat between ABiH and the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, were underway on Mount Igman and the surrounding areas in July 1993.
Prosecutor Sedin Idrizovic said that the diary did not indicate that he saw the indictee on July 27 and that they spoke to each other. The witness explained that he wrote down the things he considered important.
Among other things, Bojadzic is charged with having taken two Croat detainees from “The Battle on Neretva” Museum in Jablanica on July 28, 1993. He allegedly did this together with another soldier. The two of them then raped the detainees.
Bojadzic’s Defence presented an ABiH document, indicating that the Deputy Commander of “Zulfikar” Unit was among the soldiers, who surveyed the terrain on Mount Igman on July 26 and 27. The witness said that he did not remember that Bojadzic participated in the survey of the terrain, adding that he saw him in another situation on July 27.
When asked how the indictee looked like at that time, the witness said that he had longer hair, but he did not remember that he had beard.
Second Defence witness Sacir Arnautovic said that he worked as Assistant Commander for Security Affairs with the First Corps of ABiH in 1993.
He said that he had got findings that indictee Bojadzic was in Sarajevo in late July 1993, but he did not know the exact date. He said that “the correctness” of those findings was “of a high level”.
The witness said that he saw the indictee in Sarajevo on August 1, 1993, after a conflict between Boris Krstanovic and Ramiz Delalic, known as Celo, who were commanders of two units in Sarajevo.
As he said, following the conflict, the witness went to the base of the unit commanded by Delalic, who was killed in Sarajevo in 2007.
“Bojadzic was present in Commander Delalic’s office,” the witness recalled, adding that he remembered that the indictee had long hair, but no beard.
The trial of Bojadzic, who is also charged with other crimes in Jablanica, is due to continue on January 22.
