Stevo Stanisic said that he spent about seven days in the premises of Rapatnica local community, but nobody abused him. As he said, about 20 Serbs were detained in the local community building with him. When asked who guarded them, witness Stanisic explained that there were several persons and that he remembered a Muco and Sejdo, but he did not know who was in charge.
“Honestly, they treated me in a very correct manner. I do not know about the others,” Stanisic said.
He told the Court that they used to get food, that they could use an outhouse and that nobody had any health problems.
During his testimony Stanisic recalled having noticed injuries on Zdravko Ostojic after he had been brought to the local community. He agreed with the Defence’s allegation that Ostojic got the injuries in the Lukavac area.
The witness said that he was never informed about the reason for his detention in the Rapatnica local community building, adding that he and other detainees were taken to a prison in Tuzla afterwards.
Ibracevic, Smajlovic and Covic are charged with crimes committed against Serb civilians in Rapatnica local community and “Rapatnica” football club premises in the summer of 1992. According to the charges, the detainees were beaten up, tortured and abused in various ways, while Ibracevic approved such treatment by supervising those detention facilities. Covic is charged with having entered the local community premises and beat civilians up, while Smajlovic is charged with having failed to prevent other persons from entering the premises.
The indictment alleges that Ibracevic was Chief of the Military Security Section with the Municipal Headquarters of the Territorial Defence in Srebrenik, Smajlovic was Commander of a military police Squad with the Municipal Headquarters of the Territorial Defence, while Covic was member of military police.
The trial is due to continue on December 9.
