The Appellate Chamber will pronounce the verdict after having considered appeals filed by Vujadin Popovic, Ljubisa Beara, Drago Nikolic, Radivoje Miletic, Vinko Pandurevic and the Hague Prosecution.

According to the verdict pronounced in June 2010, Vujadin Popovic, former Chief for Security with the Drina Corps of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, and Ljubisa Beara, former Chief for Security with the Main Headquarters of VRS, were sentenced to life imprisonment for having committed genocide in Srebrenica.

Drago Nikolic, former Chief for Security with the Zvornik Brigade of VRS, was sentenced to 35 years, Radivoje Miletic, Chief of Section for Operational and Educational Affairs of the Main Headquarters, to 19 and Vinko Pandurevic, Commander of the Zvornik Brigade, to 13 years in prison.

As determined by the first instance Chamber, Popovic, Beara and Nikolic participated in organising the murders of Bosniak men who were captured after the VRS had occupied Srebrenica on July 11, 1995.

Miletic was found guilty of having participated in the forced removal of the population and Pandurevic for having failed to undertake measures in order to prevent the participation of units, which were subordinate to him, in those executions.
