Suspect Alic Did not Hear about Incidents

Sefik Alic, who testified in presence of his legal advisor Kadrija Kolic, because he is under an investigation, said that he happened to be in Konjic, when the war broke out, and that he was mobilized by the Konjic Brigade. He mentioned that, as of January 8, 1993 he was engaged as policeman with military police of the Fourth Corps of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH.
“From May 1993 onwards I was commander of a guard shift in ‘Musala’. Hamdija Alic was with me. Edhem Zilic was the Manager,” Alic said, adding that he stayed in “Musala” until the exchange of prisoners.
He said that he thought that a guard shift lasted 24 hours and that, in addition to him and his Deputy, nine more guards were present in one shift. Also, he said that a book of all entries and exists from “Musala”, as well as happenings in it, was kept.
Alic said that three unarmed and unknown soldiers once came to “Musala”, but they left immediately, “when a guard began shouting at them”. According to Alic, on another occasion a man armed with an automatic gun and bomb entered “Musala” and threatened that he would kill the Croats but he was successfully brought under control.
“I heard that Midko Pirkic came, but it did not happen during my shifts,” the witness said.
Sefik Alic said that he did not remember that indictee Macic was in his shift. Also, he said that he did not know what Macic was charged with and that he had never heard of any incidents associated with his name that happened in “Musala”.
The Prosecution of BiH charges Ibro Macic with having participated in the torture and sexual abuse of prisoners in the “Musala” school building in Konjic from April to October 1993.
Sefik Alic’s Deputy Hamdija Alic is due to appear as Defence witness at the next hearing.
The trial is due to continue on October 31.
