Ivan Zelenika pleads not guilty to the charges contained in a second State Prosecution’s indictment, charging him with crimes against Bosniaks in the Mostar area.

“Honourable Court, I plead not guilty,” Zelenika said appearing before a preliminary hearing judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH.

Zelenika, former member of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, is charged with having treated Bosniak civilians in an inhumane manner in the period from November 1993 to June 1994.

Another process is conducted against Zelenika before the Court of BiH for crimes committed against Serba in “Dretelj” military prison, near Capljina, in the summer of 1993. He is on trial along with Srecko Herceg, Edib Buljubasic, Ivan Medic and Marina Grubisic-Fejzic.

Considering the fact that he pleaded not guilty, Zelenika’s trial will begin in the upcoming period.
