As agreed at a status conference, the trial of Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic for crimes against the civilian population in Kotor-Varos is due to begin on August 26 with the reading of the indictment and presentation of the State Prosecution’s introductory statement.

The State Prosecution proposed 12 witnesses. According to the plan, it would need ten working hours for presentation of its evidence. The Defence of the indictees will present their evidence presentation plans once the State Prosecution has completed the presentation of its evidence.

According to the charges, Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic raped a minor female on June 28, 1992. They are charged with having taken a female person, who was 14 years old at the time, from a house in Orahova village in the evening hours and raped her.

The indictment alleges that the Markovics were members of the Kotor-Varos Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, at that time.

Prohibiting measures were ordered against Bosiljko and Ostoja Markovic at the beginning of March.
