Wounded during Forced Labour

A witness Slobodan Petric, who has since died, said in a statement in 2010 that his son Milomir was taken and detained at “Silos“ in June 1992, where he was also brought several days later.

“They brought six of us to the Tarcin Community Centre. They brought us to the first floor, we turned towards the wall and the beatings begun… After beating us they brought us to “Silos“. There were soldiers hitting us, but they didn’t beat me,” he said in the statement read out by the prosecutor Zorica Djurdjevic.

Several days after he came to the “Silos“, he saw his son Milomir being taken to work, a witness said.

“Sometimes I would see him and he would give me some food. He was taken to Pazaric in January in order to work, and then to “Mraziste“… Once while he was working, a guard stepped on a mine and activated it, so my son was thrown back by the detonation,” Petric said, adding his son was later taken to the hospital where he died.

Becir Hujic, Mustafa Djelilovic, Fadil Covic, Mirsad Sabic, Nezir Kazic, Halid Covic, Serif Mesanovic, and Nermin Kalember are on trial for committing crimes against Serb and Croat prisoners at the Silos camp, the Krupa barracks and the 9th of May school in Hadzici

According to the indictment, Hujic was the warden of the Silos camp, as was Halid Covic at a later date. Mesanovic was one of the deputy wardens at the detention centre and also camp warden in the Krupa military barracks. Kalember was a guard, while the others worked for the civilian, military or police authorities.

Prosecutor Djurjdevic also read out the statement of late Mirza Iblizovic, who used to work in the Pazaric Health Centre during the war.

He said that Serif Mesanovic used to bring some patients to his ambulance.

A witness also said that Mirsad Sabic, “a police chief in Pazaric“ came to his ambulance once, and said he knew Sabic “was personally collecting people in Pazaric.“

“When he came to me to the ambulance, he said: ‘You doctor are going to take some rest, we won’t bring you Serbs, we found another doctor’,” he said explaining that people from Silos were never brought to him, but that he knew that 14 people, who were detained there, died.

The witness said that he know Mustafa Delilovic, who was “the main man in Pazaric”. The Defence said that it would ask the witness if that was possible, whether Djelilovic had any connections to Silos.

The trial continues on July 17.
