The Prosecution filed the custody extension motion due to a danger that the suspect might flee, considering the fact that he has dual citizenship and a place of residence in another country.
Salaj was arrested in Brcko on June 3 due to a suspicion that he committed crimes against the Serb civilian population and prisoners of war in Gornji Rahic in 1992.
The former member of the Croatian Defence Forces, HOS, is suspected of having killed one civilian and tortured and treated detainees, who were held within the “Majevica” forestry complex at Okrajci locality, in an inhumane manner.
