As confirmed by the Court, Krsmanovic was ordered into custody due to a danger that he might flee, influence witnesses and repeat the crime.

Krsmanovic, who is suspected of having stubbed the witness with a knife several times, has chosen to remain silent, so the motives for the attack are still not known.

Sinisa Derganc, Defence attorney of suspect Krsmanovic, said that the District Prosecution in Eastern Sarajevo had not even submitted evidence, supporting a grounded suspicion that he committed this crime.

“I do not see how this could be associated with the ongoing proceedings against Dragan Sekaric,” said Derganc.

As confirmed by Damir Alagic, attorney of the witness, the assaulted person is a protected witness in the case against Dragan Sekaric, who is indicted, before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BiH, with war crimes committed in the Visegrad and Gorazde area.

Also, the assaulted person is an indictee in a separate case.
