Cantonal Prosecutor Jasmin Mesic proposed that the evidence, which was used during the first instance trial, not be presented again in the courtroom, but he proposed that witness Amir Gromilic be examined, because he was not examined during the first instance trial due to poor health.

Lavrnic’s Defence agreed with the proposal to accept the evidence presented earlier and announced that it would only invite witness Kada Pehadzic to testify.

In October 2012 the Cantonal Court in Bihac acquitted Ratko Lavrnic, former member of the 17th Kljuc Brigade of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, of the charges that he came to Rejzovici hamlet on February 10, 1993 and killed three and wounded one Bosniak civilian.

The Bihac Cantonal Prosecution appealed the verdict due to an alleged violation of the criminal proceedings and wrongly and incompletely determined factual status. After that the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina quashed the verdict and ordered a retrial.

The trial of Lavrnic is due to continue on May 16.
