Kornjaca, former Commander of “Plavi Orlovi” (“Blue Eagles”) paramilitary unit, is on trial for crimes committed in Cajnice in April and May 1992.

Court expert Zujo said that he had prepared his findings and opinion about the severity and origination of injuries of Hamdo Hurlov and Mehmed Trgo on the basis of medical documentation submitted to him by the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“As far as injured party Hamdo Hurlov is concerned, the medical documentation indicates that he had a hematoma on the area below his clavicle, as well as hematoma between his 11th and 12th rib. The injuries could be caused by hits with a fist,” Zujo said, adding that those were light bodily injuries.

He said that Mehmed Trgo had bronchi inflammation and asthma, which were considered “severe injuries”.

The Defence had no questions for the court expert at this hearing.

Prosecutor Dzevad Muratbegovic filed a revised indictment with the Trial Chamber, but it was not specified what changes had been made to the indictment.

The trial is due to continue on January 22.
