Sekaric, former member of the Territorial Defence and paramilitary formation “Avengers”, is charged with the persecution of non-Serb civilians in Gorazde and Visegrad through murders, torture, rape and theft in 1992 and 1993.
He is charged that on May 22, 1992 – with several other Bosnian Serb army members – he shot at unarmed civilians in houses in Lozje village in Gorazde and killed four and injured six civilians.
Sekaric is charged of raping a woman on June 3, 1992 in Kosovo Polje in Visegrad, after he took all civilians from outside a Bosniak household.
“He took one woman and told her to go into the house and make coffee. He went to the kitchen and raped her. The soldiers burned a nearby house and when an old woman came to Sekaric asking for help he told her: ‘Old woman, now you have money’ and forced her into the house saying: ‘You put out the fire’, and shot her from a pistol”, said the Bosnian Prosecution.
Sekaric is also charged with robbing a Bosniak civilian in Dusce, Visegrad in May 1992 and beating Bosniak prisoners in the Uzamnica camp in Visegrad in 1992 and 1993 with Milan Lukic, who was sentenced by The Hague tribunal to life in prison.
“They hit prisoners with a stick, iron spikes, electric bats and rifle butts. One of the prisoners was badly injured, another died from the abuse and two were taken away and have never been seen since”, said the Bosnian Prosecution.
The indictment was sent for confirmation to the Bosnian State Court.
