This verdict was pronounced after the Supreme Court of Republika Srpska had considered the appeals and revoked the first instance verdict, ordering a new trial before the District Court in Bijeljina.

During the retrial the Prosecution stuck to the evidence presented earlier, except for a report from the examination of key witness Stanisa Stevanovic by Hague investigators, because this was a copy, not an original document.

The Defence of the indictees stuck to the previously presented pieces of evidence too.

After having reviewed the evidence again, the Trial Chamber confirmed its previous decision and acquitted the indictees of the charges for crimes committed in Ratkovici village, Srebrenica municipality.

Salihovic and Jakupovic, former members of armed forces of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABiH, are charged with having killed Stojan Stevanovic in Ratkovici village in 1992. According to the charges, during an attack on hamlets near Ratkovici village they cut Stojan Stevanovic’s throat and stabbed him on his body with a knife several times, causing severe bodily injuries, so he died immediately.
