The Prosecutor’s Office of the US Federal State of Virginia recommended that Nezirovic be extradited to judicial institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A court in Virginia said that the available evidence indicated that Nezirovic committed war crimes against Serb civilians in Derventa.

Two years ago U.S. agents examined former detainees from Rabic detention camp, Derventa municipality. According to what they said, Nezirevic tortured civilians while working as a guard.

Media reports say that, in June 2011 Nezirovic faced charges, alleging that he lied when applying for U.S. citizenship and during an interview about naturalisation.

The investigation against Nezirovic is conducted by the Doboj District Prosecution, which filed a request through the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina for his extradition from the USA.

“The District Prosecution has found out from the media that the competent court in the USA has approved the suspect’s extradition, but we have still not received an official notification about it,” the District Prosecution says.
