Among the evidence presented by the State Prosecution was a report titled “Changes in the ethnic composition of the population in Visegrad in the period from 1991 to 1997”, as well as lists of professional reserve policemen working with the Public Safety Station in Visegrad made for the purpose of salary payments. The Defence objected to all those pieces of evidence.

Predrag Milisavljevic, Milos Pantelic and Ljubomir Tasic are charged with having participated in murders, forcible resettlement of the population, detention, torture, disappearances and other inhumane acts in Visegrad.

According to the charges, Milisavljevic and Pantelic participated in the murder of several tens of Bosniak civilians near the Paklenik pit, where, as alleged in the indictment, Milisavljevic was the first one who began shooting the prisoners.

The Defence of Milisavljevic requested the Court to terminate custody for its client and other prohibiting measures, as was the case with the two other indictees, who were released from custody in June.

“I have been honest since the day of my arrest. I have no intention to flee. If you terminate the custody measure, you would do me a big favour, because my mother is sick. As far as this trial is concerned, let’s go to the end,” Milisavljevic said, addressing the Trial
Chamber.

The Court will render a decision concerning the request next week.

The trial is due to continue on August 27.
