Witness Zlatka Alekic told the Court that, in the summer of 1992 she and her neighbours had to leave Vrbanjci village, where she lived with her two children and husband.

She said that male village residents went to the woods, while women, children and the elderly went to Hanifici village first and then to Bilice village ten days later. As she said, she used to see indictee Mirsad Vatrac in the village.

“I cooked meals in one of the houses. I used to see Vatrac, who neither had weapons nor uniform,” Alekic said.

Fikret Planincic, Rasim Lisancic, Sead Menzil and Mirsad Vatrac, former members of the Territorial Defence, are charged with having participated in an attack on Serdari village, Kotor-Varos, on September 17, 1992, when 16 Serb civilians were killed.

When asked by Defence attorney Fadil Abaz whether Vatrac was wounded during his stay in Bilice village, the witness said that she heard that he “cut himself”, but she personally did not see any injuries.

She said that indictee Rasim Lisancic tended cattle in Bilice village.

The trial is due to continue on July 16.
