The presiding judge of the Trial Chamber Saban Maksumic asked whether it was necessary to call several witnesses in regard to the same circumstances, to which the defence said that each of the witnesses could offer relevant facts.
Lawyer Edina Residovic allowed the possibility of giving up some witnesses if she concluded during the evidence hearing procedures that some facts had been established.
Dzeko, former soldier of the Zulfikar special purposes detachment of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is charged with the murder of imprisoned members of the Croatian Defence Forces and Croatian civilians on April 16, 1993, in Trusina. He is also on trial for crimes against Croats in Jablanica in the second half of the same year.
The first witnesses for the defence will be examined at the trial scheduled for July 16.
