Alukic and Hirkic are suspected of killing four Bosnian Serb civilians on August 29, 1992, in the village of Kozarac near Prijedor in Bosnia’s Serb-donimated Republika Srpska entity.

The two Bosniaks were arrested on Thursday on orders from the war crimes department of the Banja Luka district prosecutor’s office.

After the arrests, the prosecutor called for the suspects be remanded in custody because they could be dangerous. A decision will be made later whether or not to detain them before trial.

No other information about their alleged crimes was immediately available.
