Identification of Indictee

During the trial of Mladen Markovic, who is charged with crimes in the Visegrad area, the Eastern Sarajevo District Prosecution presents, as material evidence, an album of photographs, including photographs on which protected witnesses identified the indictee.

Prosecutor Mirza Hukeljic said that witnesses S-1 and S-2 identified Mladen Markovic, known as Pjesnik, on one of the photographs.

“I think that the man on this photograph is the one who raped me,” Hukeljic said, conveying what witness S-2 said during the identification of the indictee at the Prosecution’s premises.

The Eastern Sarajevo District Prosecution charges Markovic with having raped two women in Babin Potok village, Visegrad municipality in June 1992.

Besides that, the Defence presented material evidence about the existence of an armed conflict.

The trial is due to continue on April 29.
