Witness Fahrija Elezovic stated that in summer of 1992 he was a prisoner in Omarska, and on the day of the murder he was taken to interrogation twice.

“When I returned the second time, they took me behind a white house where I saw a few bodies, one of which was also Sivac. I also saw my son being beaten up to death on that day,” Elezovic testified.

Elezovic explained that he was approached from the back while he was watching his son being beaten up, at which point he was hit in the head losing consciousness.

“I woke up before dark while other prisoners were loading the truck with the bodies. As they moved me, they noticed that I was alive so they took me back to the white house,” Elezovic stated.

According to him, the prisoners were beaten with wooden and rubber batons by a group of individuals.

“One of them even had a key weighing a few kilograms. I did not see the accused among them. I did not know him nor did I see him in the camp,” Elezovic said.

Tadic, a former member of Prijedor reserve police forces, is charged with having murdered Sejad Sivac in Omarska camp in mid-July 1992.

When asked by prosecutor Branko Mitrovic, the witness said that in the camp he spent the entire time in the bathroom with more than 30 prisoners.

“That room had high windows and painted in some colour, so nothing could be seen through them,” Elezovic explained.

The trial will continue on 28 May.
