As announced by the District Court, the pronouncement of the verdict, which was originally planned for Thursday, February 28, has been postponed “until further notice”.

Hamzic, former member of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, is charged with crimes against Serb civilians in the Derventa and Bosanski Brod areas.

He is indicted for having physically and mentally abused detained civilians, causing injuries to their bodily integrity and health, thus even contributing to the death of some of them, in the period from April to August 1992.

In its closing statement the District Prosecution in Doboj requested the Court to pronounce Hamzic guilty, while the Defence called for a verdict of release.

The trial of Hamzic began on October 3, 2012.
