Pijunovic is charged with having participated in individual and collective torture, taking away, rape and the unlawful detention of people in the period from May to July 1992.

It is alleged that he was a member of the “Crvene beretke” (“Red Berets”) police formation and “Mice” unit with the armed forces of Republika Srpska.

One of the seven counts alleges that Pijunovic participated, along with other members of the “Crvene beretke” in taking civilians from a family house in Teslic. It was determined later that those civilians were killed.

The District Court confirmed the indictment against Pijunovic on July 13 this year.

Preliminary hearing judge Dusko Ninkovic said that the Court would set the date of a status conference, at which the trial beginning date would be agreed upon, at a later stage.
