Adis Nuspahic, Prosecutor with the Mostar Cantonal Prosecution, said that, under the revised indictment, the abuse of prisoners of war was added to the charges against Raguz.

According to the charges, Raguz, former Assistant Commander of the Security and Information Service, SIS of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, participated in the physical abuse and the causing of bodily injuries and suffering of Bosniak civilians, who were held in the Kostana hospital, Stolac municipality from the beginning of August to the end of October 1993.

Josip Kresic, Defence attorney of indictee Raguz, objected to the revisions, saying that, in case the Court accepted the revised indictment, he would need additional time to prepare for the next hearing, considering the fact that the revised indictment was more detrimental to his client than the earlier one.

Trial Chamber Chairman Hamo Kebo said that he would “stick to the revised indictment”.

“This indictment has been revised on the basis of evidence you submitted to the Chamber. The Prosecutor has the right to revise the indictment. We shall stick to the current version of the indictment,” Kebo said.

The trial is due to continue on March 21.S.G.
