Jukic, former member of “Rama” Brigade of the Croatian Defence Council, HVO, is charged with having participated, in collaboration with other HVO and Croatian Army, HV members, in the persecution of Bosniak civilians, murders and forcible disappearances in the period from July to September 1993.

He is charged with having participated in taking several persons away in an unknown direction.

“The indictment is charged with having participated, along with a group of HVO members, in an attack against Bosniak civilians in Duge village, Prozor municipality on July 6, 1993. On that occasion he killed a 73-year old man, whom he saw in front of his family house,” the State Prosecution’s unconfirmed indictment alleges.

The State Prosecution alleges that, in mid-July 1993 Jukic participated, along with other HVO members, in the transport of several hundreds of prisoners from Prozor to Dretelj detention camp in Capljina, where they were mistreated.

Besides that, Jukic is charged with having come, accompanied by Vinko Papak and another HVO member, to the secondary school building in Prozor on August 3, 1993. After that five prisoners were taken to “Duska kosa” dump. They have been missing since.

According to the charges, on August 28, 1993 Jukic forced Bosniak civilians to leave Lapsunj village, Prozor municipality and participated in the disappearance of Kerim Terzic, whose body has still not been found.

“On that same day Jukic participated in the beating of several men in Ustirama village, Prozor municipality. He tied one of the men around his neck with a rope, treating him in a humiliating manner,” the indictment alleges.

The indictment against Jukic has been filed with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation. He was arrested at the beginning of November 2011. He has been held in custody since.

In September last year the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed an indictment against Vinko Papak, charging him with crimes against the Bosniak population in the Prozor area in 1993.A.J.
