Testifying before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, protected witness F said that, in September 1992 she was taken, along with other female persons, from “Partizan” sports hall in Foca to an apartment, where she was raped.

The witness said that many uniformed persons were present in the apartment, adding that they called one of them Jasko Gazdic.

“We were taken to one of the room. One female person was taken out of it first. They then took me to the bathroom and raped me. While I was in the bathroom, I heard cries and screams in the other room, where the female person was,” F said, adding that the female person told her, later on, that she had been raped by several men, including Gazdic.

The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina charges Gazdic, former member of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, with having treated Bosniak females, who were unlawfully held in “Partizan” sports hall in Foca, in an inhumane manner from the beginning of April 1992 to the end of March 1993.

According to the charges, Gazdic held a minor female in sexual slavery and raped the female persons, who had been taken away, while threatening them with weapons and enabled other persons to rape them.

Witness F said that she spent the following night with a person called Jure, who committed “sexually immoral acts” against her.

“I know that Jasko Gazdic took a woman outside the room. I met that woman again on the following morning. As I was in too much pain, I was not able to speak to her at that time,” F said.

Witness F said that a man took her out of the apartment, in which he was held. She then went to Gorazde.

During the course of cross-examination the witness said that she did not see Gazdic torturing anybody while she was held in detention.

The trial is due to continue on January 17, 2012. S.U.
