The Defence of the indictee will respond to the revisions at a later stage.

Mithat Koco, Defence attorney of indictee Ivanovic, said that he wanted to express his opinion about the revised indictment at the next hearing, because it contained some different details.

The original indictment alleges that Ivanovic, former member of the Second Special Police Squad from Sekovici with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska, MUP of RS, is charged with having participated in the escorting of a convoy of Srebrenica residents from Sandici village to the Kravica Agricultural Co-operative warehouse in Bratunac municipality, knowing that they would be executed.

According to the charges, once the residents had been detained in the warehouse, Ivanovic and other members of the Second Squad “stood in a semi-circle” and opened fire at the prisoners through the open warehouse door.

The indictment further alleges that Ivanovic stepped out of the semi-circle of people, who had shot at the prisoners, went behind the warehouse with an intention to prevent prisoners from escaping through the windows on the back side of the warehouse building.

Prior to reading the revised indictment, Prosecutor Campara said that he gave up on the examination of a few witnesses.

The trial is due to continue on November 3 this year, when the Defence will express its opinion about the revised indictment.
