Testifying before the District Court in Eastern Sarajevo, Enisa Kurtic said that she stuck to her statement given before that same Court on March 23, 2011.

The Trial Chamber explained that the second witness, who was due to testify at this hearing, was not found at the address registered as his place of residence.

The District Prosecution charges Zarije Ostojic, former member of reserve police forces with the Special Unit of the Public Safety Station in Vlasenica with the Serbian Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina Army, with having participated in the beating of civilians in Susica detention camp during the course of 1992.

The indictment alleges that Ostojic, acting in collaboration with other members of that formation, took Bosniaks out of Susica detention camp and hit them with “police sticks, rifle butts, hands and legs”.

At the beginning of this hearing the District Court Chamber said that the trial of indictee Ostojic would begin anew, because more than 30 days had passed since the previous hearing.

During the new trial the parties agreed that the indictment should not be read again. A testimony by witness Zijad Zimic, who was examined before the District Court on August 17 this year, was read in the courtroom.

The next hearing is due to be held on October 18, 2011.
