Ivanovic is suspected of having participated, on July 13, 1995, in the capture and shooting of more than 1,000 Srebrenica residents in the Agricultural Cooperative in Kravica village, Bratunac Municipality. The Prosecution considers that the suspect was a member of the Second Special Police Squad from Sekovici at the time.
Three years after an international warrant was issued, Ivanovic was arrested in Mokro village, Pale Municipality, in early March 2009. He has been in custody since then.
At a hearing on April 2 this year the State Prosecution called on the Court to extend custody of the suspect due to the possibility that he might attempt to influence witnesses, and that, if at liberty, he might “seriously disturb public peace and order”. The Defence had argued that the Prosecution motion was without any factual basis.
