Justice Report has learned that the investigation against Milenko Glavas, who was arrested and then released in 2006, is still ongoing.

The Prosecution alleges that documents received from Germany are currently being translated. Justice Report has also established that the key witnesses in this case are outside BiH.

Milenko Glavas, a former member of the 2nd Battalion with the 22nd Light Infantry Brigade of Republika Srpska Army, was arrested in August 2006 on an arrest warrant issued by the Prosecution of BiH. He is believed to have committed war crimes on the territory of Kotor Varos.

Glavas was arrested in BiH on the basis of a warrant issued by German Interpol. An investigation against him has also been opened in Germany, but it is based on different allegations. Although Germany has requested it, a decision for his extradition to that country has not been rendered as the suspect has Bosnian citizenship.

In November last year, Glavas was released from custody as per a decision rendered by the War Crimes Chamber of the Court of BiH. The Prosecution did not ask for his movements to be restricted upon his release.
