On 27 April, appeals judges are set to listen to Prosecution and Defence arguments in the case of Marko Samardzija, who was recently sentenced to 26 years imprisonment for crimes against humanity in Kljuc.
Theex-commander of a local battalion of the Republika Srpska Army ischarged to have ordered, on 10 July 1992, imprisonment of men from hamlets around Kljuc in the elementary school in the village of Biljani. The prisoners were then taken out in small groups and killed.
On Monday, 23 April, the first status conference will be held before the start of trial against Zdravko Mihaljevic, ex-member of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO), charged with crimes against civilians committed in the area of Kiseljak.
The indictment against him was confirmed on 2 February 2007 and Mihaljevic pleaded not guilty ten days later.
During the continuation of trial of Željko Lelek,the prosecution will, on 23 April 2007, hear two more witnesses. Lelek is charged with murders, illegal detention and maltreatment of residents from the municipality of Visegrad during 1992.
On the same day, the trial of Zoran Jankovic will continue. He is accused of crimes against humanity committed in the area of Zvornik and Kalesija during 1992.
Also, the trial will continue in the case of former HVO members Marko Radic, Dragan Sunjic, Damira Brekalo and Mirko Vracevic, who are accused of crimes against civilians in the detention camp Vojno near Mostar.
Momcilo Mandic,who is accused of responsibility for the establishment and operation of detention camps in Sarajevo and Foca in 1992 will appear before the Court of BiH four times during next week, on 23, 24, 25 and 26 April.
The retrial of former Visegrad policeman Boban Simsic will continue on 24, 25 and 26 April. Simsic is charged with crimes against humanity committed in Visegrad on 1992.
On 24 April, the trials against Mitar Rasevic, former commander of guards and Savo Todovic,former deputy manager of the correctional facility Foca – both charged with inhumane treatment of non-Serb prisoners – will continue.
On Wednesday and Thursday the state prosecutor’s office will continue presenting evidence against Zeljko Mejakic, Momcilo Gruban, Dusan Fustar and Dusko Knezević, who are indicted for the forced detention of Bosniak civilians in camps near Prijedor.
The trial of 11 indictees charged with genocide committed in Srebrenica in July 1995 will continue on Thursday, 26 April.
On Friday, three more prosecution witnesses will appear at the trial or Goran and Zoran Damjanovic,former members of the Republika Srpska Army who are alleged to have taken part in beating of a group of captured Bosniaks in Bojnik settlement, Sarajevo.
