Former Croatian Defence Council fighter Mirko Juric was charged with participating in the persecution and killing of Serb civilians and the torture of prisoners of war in Orasje in 1992 and 1993. The Bosnian state court on Thursday confirmed the indictment of Mirko Juric, charging him with crimes against humanity and against prisoners of war in 1992 and 1993 in the Orasje area.

Jadranko Prlic, the former premier of the unrecognised wartime Herzeg-Bosna statelet, appealed against his war crimes conviction, denying involvement in a joint criminal enterprise with Croatian officials.

A prosecution witness claimed that military policeman Mehmed Alesevic, who is on trial for war crimes, was present while other soldiers beat him up at a motel in Buzim in 1995. Testifying at the trial of Mehmed Alesevic at the state court on Monday, prosecution witness Safet Dzaferovic said that the defendant was there when he was beaten, although he did not participate in the assault.

Nihad Bojadzic, the former deputy commander of the Bosnian Army’s Zulfikar Squad, will be retried for the abuse of Croat prisoners of war in the Jablanica area in 1993. The appeals chamber of the state court in Sarajevo on Friday accepted an appeal from Nihad Bojadzic’s defence and quashed part of his first-instance verdict which convicted him of crimes against prisoners of war in Jablanica in 1993.

A former prisoner told the trial of four Serb ex-policemen that one defendant beat him up near Prijedor in 1992, while other prisoners disappeared during the night.

At the trial of ten former policemen for wartime crimes in the town of Janja, a prosecution witness said that his father up was beaten up by the police in November 1993, and later died.

A former prisoner told the trial of Croatian Defence Council ex-fighter Azra Basic that a woman assaulted and humiliated him while he was in captivity in Derventa in 1992. Prosecution witness Cedo Prodic told the state court in Sarajevo on Friday that he and other prisoners were beaten up by a woman called Azra while they were being held at a military building in Derventa in April 1992.

Former Croatian Defence Council fighter Almaz Nezirovic was sentenced to two years in prison for war crimes against Serb civilians who were abused in a detention camp in Derventa in 1992. The Bosnian state court on Thursday found Almaz Nezirovic guilty of the inhumane treatment of 22 Serb civilians detained at the Rabic detention camp in Derventa from the end of April 1992 to the end of June.

At the trial of the former head of the Serb Crisis Committee in the Vogosca municipality, a witness said the village of Svrake came under attack and then a death threat allegedly arrived from the defendant.

Former Croatian Defence Council military policeman Edin Sakoc denied raping a female prisoner in Pocitelj in July 1992. Edin Sakoc told the state court in Sarajevo on Friday that he was never alone with the victim and did not rape her.
