The trial of Ratko Mladic at The Hague resumed with the presentation of evidence on the murders of Bosniaks and Croats, which, according to the indictment, were committed by forces under Mladic’s command across Bosnia and Herzegovina in the summer of 1992. Witness for the Prosecution, Safet Taci described how, in late July 1992, he was a witness to the murder of around 150 prisoners in the Keraterm camp near Prijedor.

At the trial of the former Bosnian Serb army chief, Ratko Mladic, the defence completed their cross examination of the protected witness, RM-010, who survived the execution of the Bosniaks in the village of Biljani near Kljuc in July 1992. Maldic’s lawyer, Miodrag Stojanovic, dedicated the majority of his examination to the events which preceded the crime, including the attack by Bosniak forces on the column of the Yugoslav People’s Army, JNA, and Serb police in the vicinity of Kljuc.

Trying to deny the testimony by former Sky TV correspondent Aernout van Lynden, who said that Serb forces terrorised people in Sarajevo by shelling them in the summer of 1992, the Defence of Ratko Mladic says that the Republika Srpska Army targeted military facilities in the city only.

Eelco Koster, former member of the UNPROFOR Dutch Battalion, says at the trial of Ratko Mladic at The Hague that, following the fall of Srebrenica in July 1995, the indictee threatened him by saying that UNPROFOR “would be in trouble” if it opposed the deportation of Muslims from Srebrenica.

The trial of Ratko Mladic, who is charged with genocide and other crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, continues with testimony by a Bosniak, who survived the shooting of Srebrenica residents on Branjevo farm, near Pilica village in Zvornik municipality in July 1995. The witness, who testified under the pseudonym of RM-255, said that, on July 13, 1995 Serb soldiers separated him from his family in Potocari, where the local population from Srebrenica sought shelter in the vicinity of the UNPROFOR Base.

The Republika Srpska Army, over which indictee Ratko Mladic had full control, terrorised civilians in Sarajevo by a random shelling and sniping during the long-lasting siege, said David Harland, former UNPROFOR officer.
