As the trial continues before the Hague Tribunal of Ratko Mladic, who is charged with genocide in Srebrenica, , his Defence suggests that, when Mladic told representatives of Srebrenica Muslims that they could survive or disappear, he referred to Muslim soldiers, who had still not surrendered to the Republika Srpska Army, VRS.

The Hague Prosecution’s military expert Richard Butler says at Ratko Mladic’s trial that the mass murder of captives from Srebrenica, which was committed by members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska in Kravica village, near Bratunac in July 1995, was “ordered”.

By presenting a series of intercepted conversations between Republika Srpska Army, VRS, officers at Ratko Mladic’s trial during the testimony by military expert Richard Butler, the Hague International Tribunal’s Prosecution tries to prove that the execution of thousands of Srebrenica Muslims in July 1995 was an operation ordered and conducted by the top leadership of that Army.

Testifying at Ratko Mladic’s trial, Prosecution’s military expert Richard Butler says that the persecution of Bosniaks from Srebrenica and elimination of enclaves in Eastern Bosnia was a proclaimed goal of the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, since 1992.
