The state court confirmed an indictment charging four former Bosnian Serb Army soldiers and policemen with crimes against humanity over attacks on Bosniak villages in the Vlasenica area in 1992. The state court in Sarajevo on Thursday confirmed the indictment charging Simo and Zoran Stupar and Zoran and Goran Tesic with contravening the Geneva Conventions’ provisions on the protection of civilians during times of war.

Former soldier Rade Garic was charged with persecuting Bosniaks by committing murders, torture, rape and other crimes in the Vlasenica and Srebrenica areas in 1992 and 1995. The state court in Sarajevo on Friday confirmed the indictment of Rade Garic, the former commander of the Interventions Squad of the Bosnian Serb Army’s Vlasenica Brigade, for crimes against humanity.

Former Bosnian Serb Army soldier Sladjan Pajic was arrested on suspicion that he committed multiple rapes and mistreated detained Bosniak civilians in Vlasenica in 1992. State Investigation and Protection Agency police officers arrested ex-soldier Sladjan Pajic on Tuesday on suspicion that he committed war crimes against the civilian population in Vlasenica from May 1992 to the end of that year, the Bosnian state prosecution said.

Visnja Acimovic was charged with involvement in the shooting of 37 Bosniak prisoners in the Vlasenica municipality in 1992. The Bosnian state prosecution on Monday charged Visnja Acimovic, also known as Beba, with having participated in the shooting of 37 Bosniak men at Mracni Dol in the Vlasenica municipality, near the Susica detention camp, which was run by Bosnian Serb forces.
