The cantonal court of Bihac has sentenced former Bosnian Army member Dzevad Mahmutovic to one year in prison for participating in the abuse of prisoners of war in March 1995.
State prosecution witness Mehmed Bajric testified today at the trial of former Bosniak fighter Dzevad Dulic. Bajric, himself a former member of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina, said that he had taken a statement from a protected witness known as S1 in 1994. S1 had said that she had been raped by Dulic.
The trial of Dzevad Dulic began today with a reading of the indictment, introductory statements, and the examination of the first prosecution witness. Dulic, a former Bosnian Army fighter, is charged with the rape of a woman in the Cazin area in 1993.
