During the continuation of the trial for crimes in Kotor-Varos, the Defence of indictee Sead Menzil presents material evidence, including documents about the conflict between Serb and Bosniak forces in the area.
The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina ordered prohibiting measures against four people, who are suspected of crimes in the Bihac and Cazin areas in March 1995.
The prohibiting measures will last for one month.
During the nine-month trial, the Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina tried to prove the guilt of Muhidin Basic and Mirsad Sijak, who are indicted for war crimes of rape in Vares in early 1994, while their Defence considers the indictees not guilty and that they should be freed.
In their closing statement the BiH prosecution stressed that, during his 16-month long trial, the indictment's statements on war crimes committed by Veselin Vlahovic in Grbavica, Kovacic and Vraca in 1992 had been proven.
Presenting its closing statement, the defence of Muhidin Basic has called for the acquital saying that the prosecution has failed to prove that the defendant is guilty of rape in Vares in 1994.
The defence said that the protected witness A was the only “alleged direct witness” of the events, adding that “other evidence casts doubts on her reliability”.
The Prosecution of Bosnia and Herzegovina requested that Velemir Djuric and Dragomir Soldat, arrested under suspicion of committing a crime in Prijedor, be remanded in custody.
At the trial of Zeljko Jukic, who is charged with war crimes in Prozor, two State Prosecution witnesses say that the indictee took two men out of the Secondary School Centre and that the men never came back, adding that their bodies were found at a rubbish dump in the vicinity of the town.
