The Appeal Chamber of Bosnia's state court has extended former Bosnian Croatian military policeman Mato Baotic's sentence to 13 years for crimes committed in the Orasje area of northern Bosnia in 1992. The Appellate Chamber of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has sentenced former Bosnian Croat military policeman Mato Baotic to a single sentence of 13 years for committing war crimes in Orasje in 1992.

The defence lawyer in the high-profile trial of the Bosnian Army’s former commander in Srebrenica, Naser Oric, urged the court to acquit him of killing three captive Serb soldiers in 1992. In its closing statement at the politically-charged trial of former Srebrenica commander Naser Oric at the state court in Sarajevo on Tuesday, the defence said that the entire indictment, as well as the prosecution’s evidence, was based on statements by a non-credible witness.

As the politically-charged trial of former Srebrenica commander Naser Oric nears its end, the Bosnian prosecution argued that he should be convicted of killing three captive Serb soldiers in 1992. In his closing statement on Tuesday, prosecutor Miroslav Janjic told the state court in Sarajevo that former Bosnian Army commander Oric and his fellow ex-soldier Sabahudin Muhic should be found guilty of war crimes against prisoners of war.
