Aziz Susa, Muhamed Sisic, Emir Drakovac and Tarik Sisic are on trial for having participated in an attack on a civilian convoy in the village of Kukavice on August 27, 1992, when at least 20 Serbs were killed and several more were wounded.

Drakovac has been charged with shooting a civilian in the Rogatica area in November 1992. He has also been charged with the torture of an unidentified captured member of the Bosnian Serb Army in the Foca area in late 1992.

According to the charges, Muhamed Sisic was the commander of the Commando Squad of the Kukavicka Company of the Bosnian Army, while the other defendants were members of that unit.

Susa’s defense said the defendant had informed the defense right before the hearing that he was sick and would not be able to appear in court. The chamber said it expected to receive justification for the defendant’s absence.

The trial will continue on December 1, when a protected state prosecution witness will be examined via video-link.
