Milorad Topic Pleads Not Guilty To Prisoner Assault

Milorad Topic, also known as Cica, has been charged with separating S.D., a captured member of the medical service of the Bosnian Army, from other prisoners detained on the premises of a school building in Pajic Polje, near Gornji Vakuf-Uskoplje. Topic allegedly took S.D. to another room and beat him. Other unidentified soldiers then joined him.

“On that occasion, they hit S.D., kicking and punching him all over his body, and also beat him on his head and body with glass bottles, breaking them in the process. While beating him, they also used chairs and table parts. The injured party was covered in black bruises, experienced swelling and suffered enormous pain due to the injured they caused him,” the indictment alleges.

The trial will open in the next two months.
