Prosecutor Miroslav Janjic included 11 pieces of material evidence in the case file. Most of them were formal decisions describing danger from impending conflicts. The evidence also included a declaration of war, documents describing the establishment of the Bosnian Army and the Bosnian Serb Army, as well as a decision terminating the state of war.
Janjic also included two documents issued for Gligor Begovic by the Bosnian Serb entity’s office for the protection of war veterans and disabled persons, as well as the defendant’s personal record.
Begovic’s defense introduced statements given by two state prosecution witnesses during the investigation phase of the case as its material evidence.
Begovic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army, has been charged with participating in the assault of Bosniak civilians and prisoners of war detaned at the Batkovic detention center in the summer of 1992. He has also been charged with forcing two prisoners to have sexual intercourse.
The trial will continue on May 13.
