Prosecutor Predrag Tomic included documentation issued by the Republika Srpska Army, VRS, in July 1995, in the case file as material evidence. The mentioned documentation refers to the arrest and murder of Srebrenica residents.
As said by the Prosecutor, a document issued by the Drinski Corps of VRS on July 12, 1995 contains an order to arrest and murder Srebrenica residents.
“It is important to arrest or liquidate as many members of Muslim formations as possible,” the document indicates.
According to one of the VRS documents, after having been captured, between 1,000 and 1,500 enemy soldiers were killed in Konjevic Polje.
The Defence pointed out that those pieces of evidence were irrelevant, because they did not refer to the happenings charged upon Stanisic and Milosevic under the indictment.
Stanisic and Milosevic are on trial for having killed about 1,000 captured Srebrenica residents on a dam, near Petkovci village, Zvornik municipality, in mid-July 1995.
According to the charges, Stanisic was Commander of the Sixth Battalion of the Zvornik Brigade of VRS, while Milosevic was his Deputy. The Battalion Command was situated in Petkovci, the indictment alleges.
The trial is due to continue on January 14.
